NEW STAKE ACCOUNTANT/OFFICE MANAGER |
We are very pleased to announce that Lynn Pham has joined the Stake office staff as accountant and office manager as of March 26, 1998. Lynn comes to us highly qualified, with a B.A. degree in Business Administration-Accounting from CSU-Fullerton and over 6 years experience in accounting supervision. Lynn has been a resident of Southern California for 13 years, and lives in Santa Ana with her husband and three children, 4 ½ year-old twins, Jonathan and Elizabeth, and 2 ½ year-old Emily.
We are happy to have such a warm and friendly addition to our staff, and hope you will take an opportunity to meet her soon.
Lesley Hampton-Edwards will continue to live in the area until the end of April and will be working with Lynn for a smooth transition in this important work of the Stake.

BUCKHORN WORKWEEK MAY 16-22 |
Plan now to participate in the annual Buckhorn Camp Work Week scheduled for May 16-22. We encourage families and youth to participate on Saturday and Sunday (May 16 & 17). We also hope that many of you can come up for the week or at least a few days. Members from San Diego and Mojave districts will also be sharing in the activities. You will receive work vouchers which will reduce the costs for Buckhorn youth events or reunion. Come and be a part.

STAKE OFFICE "GARAGE SALE" APRIL 18 |
With the relocation to a smaller GLAS office space, there are a number of items available to either congregations or individuals from the old office. On Saturday April 18, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, there will be the opportunity, on a first-come, first-serve basis, to obtain various items. There are many books (excellent for home or congregational libraries), wood shelving, decorations, and office items available. Since the office will be demolished by the new owners, any item (except the standing structure of the building) is available. There will be no cost on items going to a congregation and garage sale prices on all individual purchases.

MELCHISEDEC MASS MEETING APRIL 19 |
On Sunday April 19, there will be a mass meeting of the Melchisedec priesthood from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Temple City. This event is a follow-up to the mass meeting in February. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss any issues from the 1998 World Conference.
We are grateful for the enthusiastic response from the February meeting and look forward to another excellent experience in April.

MASTER PLAN FOR TEMPLE CITY MOVING RAPIDLY |
At the November, 1997 GLAS Conference a resolution was approved which transferred responsibility for the facility presently being utilized by the Temple City congregation to the Stake.
A Stake Master Plan Task Force has met several times with the architects Jim and Mike Corcoran to develop a proposal which will be presented at the May 30, 1998 GLAS Conference. The plan will provide improved facilities for children/youth activities, Stake conferences, Stake retreats and workshops, and community organizations.

BUCKHORN CAMP PREPARES FOR MAJOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT |
In December the Buckhorn Camp Board voted to proceed with a major improvement project. The unanimous vote came after a lengthy study with planners and engineers to evaluate the feasibility of the project along with extensive input from the congregational members from Greater Los Angeles Stake, San Diego District, and Mojave District. On January 24, a Project Management Team was elected by the board which consists of Gary Monroe (chair), Don Pike, Terry Norwood, Ted Mueller, Tom Carlson, Tom Hawthorne, and Jerry Giddens. The Project Management Team is charged with finalizing the master plan, establishing a phasing plan, developing a funding plan, procuring engineering/architectural estimates, interfacing with local community officials, and communicating progress with jurisdictional church members.
This is an exciting development, with the completed improvement project offering a substantial enhancement to the many members and friends of the church who utilize the camp grounds. Additional details will be shared as frequently as possible with a full report being presented at the May 30 GLAS conference. This project is an important component of the GLAS response to Transformation 2000.
